Emily embarked on her professional journey as an attorney in Michigan, but her role as a mother to two children made her realize that being away from her children was not personally fulfilling. Consequently, she made the decision to step away from her legal career and prioritize raising her family. When her husband’s manufacturing job relocated to Rock Hill, South Carolina, Emily and her family made the move to the area. She cherished her role as a stay-at-home mom and continued in that capacity even after the family’s subsequent move to Maple Grove, Minnesota, where they spent 18 months before returning to Rock Hill.

During her time as a stay-at-home mom, Emily discovered her true passion for teaching and eventually became a pre-K teacher.
